How often should I have a cholesterol test?

It is very important that the first test is done at a young age, in order to determine the reference value for the doctor.

▪ People with an increased risk of heart disease should have the first examination fairly early.

(due to family history or being overweight)

▪ People with normal cholesterol should get tested at least every three to five years.

▪ Those who have a family history or suffer from hypertension or have been diagnosed with diabetes should repeat the examination on an annual basis.
